Our Client operates in the Biotechnology Research Industry, with its headquarters rooted strongly in India. Their core business is Manufacturing ingredients, Marketing their own products and also doing Research and Development in the Pharmaceutical sector.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (Ind AS, IFRS, or US GAAP).
- Manage period-end close processes and general ledger reconciliations.
- Support external and internal audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit points.
Cost Accounting & Inventory Management:
- Monitor and manage inventory valuation, batch costing, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
- Conduct standard vs actual cost variance analysis.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams for real-time cost tracking.
Taxation & Regulatory Compliance:
- Handle GST, TDS, and income tax compliances including returns, reconciliations, and assessments.
- Assist in regulatory compliance relevant to the pharmaceutical industry (e.g., NPPA, CDSCO).
- Maintain records for transfer pricing and other compliance reports (e.g., Form 3CD).
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Oversee vendor payments, import transactions, and ensure proper accounting treatment.
- Monitor receivables, perform aging analysis, and coordinate with sales teams for collections.
- Conduct periodic reconciliation of vendor and customer accounts. 5. Budgeting, MIS & Financial Planning
- Assist in annual budgeting and rolling forecasts.
- Provide financial analysis and reports to management (sales trends, cost analysis, profitability reports).
- Develop and automate MIS for enhanced decision-making.
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting/finance roles; at least 3–5 years in a senior or lead role.
- Experience in pharma or manufacturing industry is highly preferred. • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and cost accounting.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally, etc.)
- Proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting tools. • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities. Nice to Have:
- Experience in handling audits for pharmaceutical R&D or DSIR-registered entities.
- Knowledge of pharma-specific compliance (NPPA reporting, drug pricing, etc.)
- Exposure to internal controls, SOX compliance, or process improvement initiatives.
