Overview:
- Executive Development & Compensation reports directly to the President & CEO, and is responsible for matters pertaining to development and compensation for Corporate, Executive & General Management level employees.
- The remit of the organization includes advisory services to Corporate and Executive Management in all matters related to the Board of Directors Affiliates (wholly-owned subsidiaries, joint ventures and stakes in publicly-listed companies), particularly on compliance with board governance standards and board effectiveness.
- Employees provide guidance to Management and advice on how to improve the performance of the board of directors and function under very limited direction and supervision.

Responsibilities:
- Advise executive management on all matters of board governance and board effectiveness.
- Provide guidance on board composition, and own the rigorous selection process of the best candidates for vacant board roles.
- Develop and implement board assessment and evaluation processes.
- Develop and implement board succession planning processes.
- Develop and deliver board training and development programs.
- Stay current on developments in corporate governance and advise executive management on their implications for the company.
- Work with executive management to establish and maintain effective relationships between the board and management.
Requirements:
As the successful candidate you will have a deep understanding of corporate governance principles and practices and will be able to provide guidance and advice on how to improve the performance of the board of directors.
- Bachelor's degree in business, law, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in corporate governance, board development, talent management or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate governance principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build relationships with board members and executive management.
- Proven ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people and build consensus.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
