Job description

Responsibilities:


  • Are you ready to embark on an exhilarating journey as a Contract Advisor? Our client is seeking a passionate individual to join their Planning and Program Services Unit, where you'll play a pivotal role in budget planning, contract strategies, and administration. This is your chance to make a significant impact and be part of their remarkable success story!
  • As a Contract Advisor for our client, you'll be at the forefront of developing contracts and overseeing related functions.
  • Serving as the representative responsible for the development, procurement, and administration of contracts within their organization, you'll collaborate with a dedicated team to ensure the seamless execution of service contracts while upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
  • Your role will encompass a diverse range of responsibilities.
  • From processing contracts and amendments to providing valuable input on contract actions, you'll be involved in every step of the process. Your financial expertise will be put to use as you contribute to the preparation of financial studies, evaluating alternative contract services with technical, financial, and procedural/administrative considerations.
  • As a subject matter expert, you'll be instrumental in developing and reviewing contracting strategies and plans for different services. Alongside their Contracting team, you'll help conduct professional analysis and technical qualification of bidders. You'll also contribute to the preparation of comprehensive scopes of work for various contract services and provide financial and technical advice on contract clauses and cost-related aspects.
  • Drawing on your expertise, you'll prepare company estimates or collaborate with the company's estimating functions to ensure accurate estimations. As a representative on the Bid Review Team, you'll be responsible for developing a realistic company position on contract terms and participating in negotiations.
  • Your negotiation skills will shine as you prepare bid responses, negotiation offers, and counter offers for specific contracts.
  • Ensuring effective contract administration, you'll oversee the implementation of all terms and conditions across divisions.
  • Additionally, you'll conduct periodic examinations of contract administration in the field, identifying potential areas for improvement and addressing any issues or shortcomings.
  • Your role also includes evaluating supplier performance, conducting counselling sessions with underperforming contractors, and logging the required actions. You'll provide recommendations for changes in contracting procedures or contract formats and assist in the preparation of contract closeout actions upon completion.


Requirements:


  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Law/Contracts Management.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in related industries, with desirable work experience in auditing, accounting, and contracting techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • A profound understanding of contract administration principles and best practices.
  • The ability to review contractual issues objectively, resolve disputes proactively, and achieve appropriate resolutions.
  • The versatility to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, supporting all contract-related tasks.
  • A dynamic attitude towards process improvements, showcasing your commitment to enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
