Data Analyst

Our client operates in the Financial sector, with its headquarters rooted strongly in the United States. It has its branches spread to more than 160 countries, providing employment to more than 200k people all over the world. They fall in the Top 15 largest Banks in the United States. Its core business is to provide various Banking and Financial services to its clients. It is known to have one of the biggest balance sheet banks in the world (among others) aiding it to offer 360-degree financial services to its clients.

Role Description:

• The Data Quality Senior Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area.
• Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information.
• Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Responsibilities:

• Devises methods for identifying data patterns and trends in available data sources.
• Defines strategies to drive data quality measurement, produce data quality dashboards and reports, and implement data quality strategies to effectively govern data and improve data quality.
• Works with data quality partners and Technology teams to identify and implement data quality tools. Identify critical data elements, data quality rules, thresholds, and other business requirements.
• Assists in the remediation of Audit and Regulatory feedback on the data quality program.
• Designs/analyzes moderately complex reports to satisfy management requirements.
• Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact.
• Uses broad discretion in developing solutions for business reporting issues.
• Influences decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization.
• Mentors lower level analysts.
• Applies in-depth understanding and knowledge of how business integrates within the sub function; as well as coordinates and contributes to the objectives of the function and overall business.
• Contributes to the development of new techniques and processes and for the aligned business.
• Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area.
• Responsible for own work to support business teams in assigned area.
• Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams, and is involved in coaching and training of new recruits in business processes and procedures of business

• Build data quality assessments and measurement of critical data utilized by Company's strategic systems and processes supporting Global Functions and Sectors.
• Responsible for the reviewing, analyzing and dispositioning of the results of those measurements as well as providing detail and summary reporting of the same.
• Accountable for understanding and documenting systems, data flows and data quality rules driven from the profiling and assessments of critical data.
• Analyze data quality issues
• Interact with business and technical staff who support the Global Functions, ensuring the data quality scorecards are measuring fit for purpose data.
• Secure approvals from Data Governance Officers on scorecard requirements and use (i.e., tollgate documentation).
• Performs other job duties and functions as assigned.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Company, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

• Function Background/Context
• The Compliance Federated Chief Data Office oversees the end-to-end ICRM data “ecosystem” including data governance, architecture, standards, controls, metrics, Data Concern and Remediation Management (DCRM), reporting and risk management. Objectives include: improving data governance and management; defining and maintaining the data architecture and standards; increasing business and functional engagement; improving data comprehensiveness, quality and coverage; reducing the inventory of data issues; and accelerating data access and validation for new projects.
