Engineer, Application Designer Specialist

Overview:

• As the Application Designer Specialist, you will be responsible to support integration, verification and downstream re-use of multiple applications.
• You will be a member of the 3D Data Integration IPT (Integrated Product Team) in support of Bell’s Digital Enterprise.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and support engineering applications and databases to support a digital enterprise framework that connects engineering source data with various downstream functional data.
• Assure that modeling standards and best practices are cost-effective, value-added and support the overall digital enterprise strategy.
• Provide input and develop requirements regarding next-generation Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE) related software and processes.
• Participate in testing and production roll-outs as required.
• Collaborate with IT, and various functional organizations on the integration of KBE-related software with other business systems.
• Develop and support application tools to automate, standardize and streamline current designer processes.

Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science or Systems Engineering is required, however other four-year technical degrees will be considered with sufficient applicable experience.
• Applicable advanced degrees will count towards years of experience.

Position Requirements:

• Experience at all levels will be considered with a minimum of 4 years of experience with a BS (as described above), minimum of 2 years of experience with an advanced degree
• Experience with application development
• Experience with .NET / Visual Studio
• Experience with SQL Server
• Experience with C# or Visual Basic
• Possess strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to accurately relay information to both technical and management forums.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint will be expected.
• Candidate must be capable of working autonomously.
• Candidate must have strong organizational skills. (Experience completing large complex tasks preferred.)

Preferred Skills And Experience:

• Previous experience in either air or ground vehicle design integration and be familiar with typical vehicle systems (mechanical, electrical, fluid) is highly desired.
• Basic understanding of the business systems required to execute large scale product development (CAD, PLM, ERP, MES, etc).
• Manufacturing planning or technical publications experience
• Experience with lightweight 3D viewing and publishing tools
• Experience with SAP Visual Enterprise
• Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps
• Experience with Github
• Experience with Microsoft UI Automation
• Experience with Web development, Blazor, Govcloud or ASP.NET
• Experience with design in XAML, YAML or JSON
