The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Delivery and Operations to lead our Bristol Heat Network team. As the head of this dynamic team, you will have accountability for over £200M of CAPEX investment, collecting revenues of over £120M and operating costs of over £80M in the next 5 years.

Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the successful construction and long-term operation of our local networks, overseeing all operational aspects including O&M, Metering & Billing, and Customer Services. With a focus on driving target Gross Margin for the Bristol business, you will be responsible for developing and growing the team to deliver business plan targets, as well as selecting and appointing key contractors and service providers.

To succeed in this role, you must have at least 10 years of experience in the energy market, with a proven track record of successfully delivering infrastructure projects through construction and into operation. Your excellent understanding of procurement processes and contract management, coupled with your ability to manage risk and develop excellent working relationships, will enable you to create a safety culture that transcends legal obligations and drives good quality decisions across the business.

As a confident influencer, you will be able to engage at different levels of the business, from Director level to apprentices and across supply chains, while also fostering a caring and accepting team culture. You will have a passion for creating a more sustainable society by delivering zero carbon solutions and social value to the local communities.

To be successful, you will need to be degree qualified, with at least 10 years of experience delivering and operating energy infrastructure projects. You must also have experience working with end-user customers, such as building owners/occupiers, in a CAPEX-driven environment. Additionally, you will have over 5 years of management experience with line management responsibilities, and experience working within a matrix structure where collaboration and cross-functional working are critical.
