Intellectual Property (IP)  Specialist/Analyst (TOC)

Our Client operates in the Oil and Energy industry, with its headquarters rooted strongly in Saudi Arabia. It has its branches spread to more than 50 countries, providing employment to more than 68,500 people all over the world. They fall under the Fortune 500 Companies. They are one of the world’s largest oil producers. They are constantly growing by creating new technologies through its Research and Development efforts and branch into new business lines through Investments and Acquisitions.

Responsibilities:

Successful candidates will be expected to:

• Support the development, enhancement and implementation of the our client IP strategy.
• Support inventors in obtaining the appropriate protection for their inventions.
• Assess the patentability of invention disclosures (i.e. conduct prior art searches).
• Perform competitive analysis of patent and commercial product landscape (i.e. IP mapping, IP risk management, IP monitoring, 3rd party infringement).
• Support in-house IP counsel with patent prosecution and other patent related activities.
• Management of annuity payments including responding to annuity payment requests and resolving issues.
• Conduct IP awareness sessions and training.
• Contribute to our client IP related goals.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related scientific field and preferably Master’s degree in intellectual property.
• Experience: Typically has 10 years of professional experience including at least 5 years as a specialist in IP field, and achieved substantial recognition by peers as an expert.
