Junior/Senior - Proposal and Estimation Engineer

Our client is a leading original equipment manufacturer of steam turbines up to 100 MWe range. These steam turbines are used for power generation in industries -Sugar, Steel, Distillery, Waste to Energy, Biomass, Geothermal, Pulp and Paper, Textiles, Palm Oil, Food processing, IPP, Chemical, others. For over five decades, they have delivered robust, reliable, and efficient steam turbine solutions. They are one of the industrial steam turbine manufacturers, with a dominant market share of over 60% in India. Over 6,000 steam turbines supplied by our client have been installed across 20 industries in over 75 countries, including Europe, Africa, Central & Latin America, SE Asian and SAARC countries.

Role Description:

• The primary purpose of a proposal and estimation engineer is to develop and prepare proposals for turbine projects and provide accurate cost estimates to customers or internal stakeholders.
• This role involves collaborating with with various cross functional teams including Sales, Engineering, SCM, Manufacturing and Project Management to ensure the development of competitive and technically sound proposals

Responsibilities:

• Review and understand project specifications and analyze technical feasibility and also identify any special considerations 
• Develop accurate and comprehensive cost estimates of the project by accessing the components costs, estimate labour costs, factor in logistics and transportation costs, and consider any additional costs associated with installation, commissioning, or site preparation.
• Carry out thermal / heat design calculation.
• Prepare complete Techno-commercial offer to customer.
• Responsible to complete the order transmission by using primavera software tool / MS projects tool.
• Ensure the accuracy of Project Cost Estimate of steam turbine.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams and prepare technical documentation, including proposal write-ups, scope of work, project schedules, and any other relevant details. 
• Coordinate with engineering teams to validate the technical aspects of the proposal.
• Coordinate with SCM & Manufacturing teams to confirm the component / production cost.
• Perform Risk Management to minimize project risks.
• Manage the relationship with the customers and all stakeholders.
• Identify cost optimization opportunities during the estimation process.

Requirements:

Education:

• BE / B.Tech Mechanical or B.Tech/B.E. in Any Specialization.

Work Experience:

• 3 to 6 years in relevant industry experience.

Knowledge

• Knowledge on Steam Turbines products, preferably in thermal power projects, heavy engineering / capital goods - energy industry.

• Knowledge on Risk Management.
