Role Description:


  • We are looking for a proven product development leader with a strong customer-centric mindset, solid background in innovation, creating and delivering innovative products and features, driving growth and collaborating across the company to deliver market leading media products.
  • As Assistant / Lead (Product Development & Management), you will lead a team with the responsibility to create, develop and manage the product roadmap for our client in digital products, particularly video, audio and entertainment products.
  • The role requires a transformative, collaborative and inspirational leader with experience in working with large, cross functional teams and must be analytical, solutions focused, and be able to execute product initiatives across multiple business units simultaneously to solve business challenges, create solutions and deliver business value.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead a group of product managers and UX designers in the development and execution of product roadmaps for our client video, audio and entertainment suite of products
  • Undertake market competitiveness assessments and develop and continually evolve product roadmaps to ensure market relevance and competitiveness
  • Identify ongoing product enhancement opportunities in order to grow reach and engagement in digital products
  • Lead the development of business cases and product specification for new features or products and plan for and oversee their development and implementation
  • Drive the transformation initiatives, incorporating best practices to build digital development capability across business units
  • Manage multiple cross-functional internal and external stakeholders in driving product roadmaps
  • Formulate product competitiveness metrics and benchmarks and ensure clients products are performing above these benchmarks and maintain market competitiveness
  • Develop action plans and oversee their implementation for ensuring that clients products are market leading and maintain competitiveness
  • Work with app development and service delivery Leads in developing product features and executing product roadmaps
  • Lead a team of UX/UI developers on wireframing and prototyping to ensure market leading product experience and design
  • Lead a team of product managers in the development of product specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria for development sprints etc
  • Manage the drafting, issuing and running of tenders to select vendors for the above product plans
  • Work closely with vendors in the implementation of the above workstreams to ensure timely delivery of these projects
  • Plan and have responsibility for resource planning, hiring and retention of the product development team


Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in a technical or related field
  • At least 15 year’s experience, 8-10 of which are in product development in a telecommunications, media or digital environment for consumer products
  • Experience in launching digital products or services from idea to execution
  • Experience in building products for tablet, mobile, web, TV and large screen consumer devices
  • Strong understanding of the Digital landscape and innovation trends
  • Understanding of market and consumer research and deriving data/research driven consumer insights
  • Experience in user-centric design process and analysis
  • Experience in leading and developing remote and distributed teams
  • Experience in leading and executing cross functional projects.
  • Familiarity and proficiency with agile methods and tools to support project management in timeline sensitive environments

  • A strong understanding of the media environment and digital product trends
  • Ability for in-depth technical analysis of which technologies and solutions are best suited to specific business and customer problems as well as elevate thinking to consider business and strategic implications
  • Ability to facilitate thoughtful and constructive conversations within and outside the team and an ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
  • Strong analytical skills and structured thinking to remove ambiguity, and effectively create recommendations, influence decision making, assess impact, compare solutions, solve problems and achieve business and/or technical objectives
  • Ability to learn quickly (technology, business models, target industries)
  • Proficiency in working closely and collaboratively with multiple departments and executives, and in cross functional teams
  • High accountability when it comes to meeting deadlines and delivery dates, and ability to lead numerous projects simultaneously under time constraints
  • Communication Skills
  • Able to build strong relationships and foster a collaborative environment across the organisation
  • Expert written and oral communication at all levels, both internally within the organisation and externally
  • Expert presentation skills used to influence other leaders across the organisation
  • Able to demonstrate thorough understanding of business and financial acumen and proactively make recommendations
