Our client operates in the Financial sector, with its headquarters rooted strongly in the United States. It has its branches spread to more than 160 countries, providing employment to more than 200k people all over the world. They fall in the Top 15 largest Banks in the United States. Its core business is to provide various Banking and Financial services to its clients. It is known to have one of the biggest balance sheet banks in the world (among others) aiding it to offer 360-degree financial services to its clients.

Role Description:

• The Legal department seeks to fill the role of Associate General Counsel, Tech Transactions, within the global IP and Operations & Technology law group

Responsibilities:

• This senior role will be responsible for directly negotiating a wide range of complex tech agreements, including software, SAAS, outsourcing and services arrangements for managing members of the tech transactions team, and working on a variety of 3rd party contract related projects at a programmatic level, including regulatory related matters. 
• The role requires an enthusiastic team player/leader, with strong relationship and management skills and the ability to communicate complex issues crisply and clearly. 
• The successful candidate will proactively work with business and function partners, guiding and supporting their team to resolve deal blocks, and handling assessments and escalations of complex legal/regulatory issues with senior business and control function partners. 
• The successful candidate should have extensive experience with complex tech transactions, including SAAS agreement, software licenses and outsourcing agreements, as counsel either to vendor or corporate clients, with ability to directly negotiate deals and manage members of the tech transactions team. 
• Excellent analytical, communication and writing skills, with ability to work both independently and collaboratively and demonstrated ability to pragmatically address complex challenges.

 Requirements:

• Juris Doctor degree U.S. state bar admission required.
• Minimum 10+ years' legal experience required, with 5+ years experience with tech transactional work. 
• Experience with financial institutions and/or the financial markets, preferred. Prior management experience a plus.  
• Ability to multi task and handle a demanding workload.
