Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products
• Develop testing processes, and perform testing and validation of new designs
• Generate working prototypes for beta testing and customer demonstration
• Perform engineering calculations to support design work
• Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors
• Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process
• Ensure project timeline is met and project stays within budget
• Deliver documentation offering a critical analysis and suggestions for correcting errors
• Collaborate with Project Managers to develop an accurate accounting of all engineering hours required for various types of internal projects
• identify process deficiencies and develop solutions to improve those deficiencies
• Submit a scope of work for each project that includes budgetary numbers and the goal of each project
• Ability to develop CAD project drawings and review drawings from junior team members for accuracy
• Develop project charters, scope statements, schedules, plans, requirements documents, and other project documentation
• Manage integration, communications, scope, budget, schedule, procurement, resources, quality, and risk
• Assist in advising management of new developments and innovative ideas which may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations, and/or inter-departmental relations in a timely manner
• Design and development of Jigs and Fixtures for low-level automation and the ability to replicate assembly-type automatic filling/packing lines is a prerequisite for this position.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• Interest in grasping engineering concepts, and experience in designing mechanical systems and products will be an added advantage
• Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar will be an added advantage
• Previous experience with tool & machine manufacturing companies will be an added advantage.
