Job description

Role Description:


  • As the Engineering Team Leader for automotive sensors—including pressure, rotary, speed, and position sensors—you will oversee a new product development team from understanding customer requirements to designing, validating, and supporting mass production.
  • Your primary responsibility will be to guide the team in delivering high-quality, cost-effective, and reliable sensor solutions.
  • By leveraging your expertise, you will drive innovation and play a critical role in expanding the organization’s business within these product lines.


Responsbilities:


Technical Leadership:


  • Lead a multidisciplinary team in the research, design, and development of pressure, rotary speed, and position sensors for automotive applications.
  • Provide strategic direction, mentorship, and serve as the primary customer-facing leader for engineering support.
  • Foster innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team, and promote cross-functional collaboration globally.


Sensor Development:


  • Define and execute the sensor development strategy, integrating mechanical, electronic, and software components.
  • Oversee design, simulation, and prototyping, optimizing for performance, cost, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with operations to develop efficient manufacturing processes for high-quality sensor production.


Testing and Validation:


  • Lead calibration and testing of sensors, working closely with the test team to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot validation issues and drive standardization of testing systems for efficiency.


Sensor Technology Expertise:


  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of MEMS and magnetic sensing technologies for robust product development.
  • Provide technical support to customers on sensor integration and troubleshooting.


Innovation and Industry Trends:


  • Stay updated on industry trends, pressure, rotary, speed and position sensors sensing technologies.
  • Propose research projects (ADPAC) and collaborate with Product Managers to keep technical roadmaps current.


Project Management:


  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure successful, timely completion.
  • Enhance lean product development and drive strong P&L outcomes.


Documentation:


  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of designs, tests, and results, and prepare reports for internal and external audiences.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electronics, Automotive Engineering, or related field with 10+ years of engineering team leadership experience.
  • Proven expertise in sensor development like MEMS or Magnetics sensing technologies.
  • Strong technical knowledge of sensing technologies and scientific principles.
  • Proficient in sensor testing, calibration, and validation.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication and collaboration abilities with international partners.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
