Principal R&D/Product Development Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a system architect for compute and networking applications.
• Interface directly with OEM and other key customers to understand systems and evolving requirements.
• Identify potential disruptive technologies and integrate customer needs into forward-looking product strategies.
• Develop high-level system architecture requirements aligned with industry trends and customer roadmaps.
• Influence executive leadership and stakeholders to invest in innovative technologies and products.
• Collaborate across a geographically dispersed systems architecture team to share knowledge and drive consistency.
• Act as a subject matter expert in industry standards, contributing to participation and leadership in relevant bodies.
• Lead high-value development projects across hardware and high-speed signaling domains.
• Coordinate with internal engineering teams to ensure customer-centric and technically feasible solutions.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to a variety of audiences, from customers to cross-functional internal teams.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering; dual degree or MBA is a plus.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in compute and/or networking system design and related technologies.
• Strong technical background in high-speed signaling and hardware design.
• Familiarity with AI, compute, networking, and storage architectures.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects and collaborate across global teams.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel 25%–30% of the time.
• Must reside in the Austin, TX area.
