Job description

Responsibilities:


  • For non-financial risks (e.g., compliance risk, operational risk, reputational and strategic risk), drive enhancements to limit & threshold management that reflect industry-leading practices; this includes how limits & thresholds are
  • Developed and established to reflect Client’s risk profile, using analytics and judgment;
  • Calibrated in a way that reflects the firm’s risk appetite and cascaded through the firm;
  • Monitored and discussed at existing or new limit & threshold management forums;Escalated to the Board of Directors and Senior Leadership across the lines of defense; and
  • Governed through new and/or enhanced policy, standards, procedures and controls.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for senior leadership across the firm by Actively engaging the first and second line across businesses and regions as part of day-to-day risk management;
  • Providing robust review and challenge of practices and outcomes with an enterprise and concentration lens;
  • Presenting insights and findings at management and, where required, Board committees and forums; and,
  • As needed, requiring or driving risk mitigation actions to support a risk profile that is consistent with risk appetite.
  • Work closely with non-financial risk leads to drive solutions that enable delivery of the firm’s target state, which may involve influencing teams with non-direct reporting lines.
  • Lead regulatory and audit reviews with various groups.


Requirements:


  • 15+ years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably with risk management experience setting and approving limits/thresholds and/or leading concentration or portfolio management efforts
  • Proven experience in driving strategic, firmwide initiatives, including building stakeholder relationships and influencing / negotiating to achieve outcomes
  • Good understanding of regulatory expectations and industry practices in limit management and concentration risk management and/or related areas
  • Disciplined approach to execution, focused on making decisions that propel the project forward and avoid negative surprises
  • Ability to synthesize complex concepts and effectively persuade senior audiences, orally in in writing
  • Bachelor’s degree in financial, economics, mathematics or related field; Master’s degree and/or professional designations preferred
