Responsibilities:
- Turbines that will make up the Hollandse Kust Zuid (HKZ) wind farm from 2022 onwards.
- As a service technician, you have an important role in maintaining these state-of-the-art turbines.
What does that look like?
- When you come in in the morning, you see how the wind turbines look on the monitor systems.
- Literally and figuratively. Most of the time, everything is running like clockwork and you get to work on scheduled maintenance.
- You board the Crew Transport Vessel (CTV), a 2000 hp catamaran. As the boat reaches its top speed of 30 knots, you watch the sun rise behind you.
- After 45 minutes, the CTV drops you off at the foot of one of the turbines: this is your workplace today.
- You ascend 150 metres and arrive at the turbine house.
- Based on clear instructions, you get to work: you carry out inspections, replace parts, clean where necessary and ensure proper lubrication.
- In short, you do everything necessary for the sustainable functioning of the precious installation.
- Your second task is troubleshooting. Via the monitor systems, you read them out and often a malfunction can be repaired via a reset in the site office.
- Sometimes, however, your head and hands are needed.
- You get a new part from the warehouse - which is next to the office - get in the boat and fix the malfunction.
- Of course, we don't just send you out to sea and into the air.
- Your job starts with a solid training programme in which technology and safety are central.
- During the first few years, you will also benefit from the knowledge of the wind turbine supplier.
- Which you gain on-the-job but also through an extensive training programme. After that, you can call yourself an accomplished Service Technician Offshore Wind and make a concrete contribution to a beautiful, clean world.
