Sr. Infra Analyst, Server System Administration

Responsibilities:

• Proactively support all Server infrastructure technology maintaining a 24x7x365 service to our business.
• Adherence to best practices on managing systems and services across all environments.
• Work in close cooperation with colleagues in other times zones to provide seamless follow-the-sun server support.
• Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers.
• Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks.
• Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment.
• Collaborate closely with the team to develop and implement automation strategies and simplified deployment processes
• Provide weekend support for scheduled weekend changes as required.
• Provide on-call support during off hours if needed.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery and BCP drills as needed.
• Manage Physical server infrastructure using remote access.
• Manage and maintain virtual machines in our internal ESX farms as well as in our public and private cloud.
• Build new physical and virtual servers as per standards.
• Fault finding, analysis and of logging information for reporting of performance exceptions.
• Proactively monitor system performance and support our capacity planning processes.
• Follow our ITIL-aligned processes.
• Work closely with Applications Development, Applications Support, Innovation, Build and Release and Project Management colleagues.
• Knowledge of servers installed with cluster software and databases.

Requirements

• 12+ years’ Linux System Administration experience.
• In depth knowledge of Linux: RedHat both physical and virtual environment.
• Strong VMware configuration and support expertise.
• Hands on experience with physical/VM server deployments and commissioning.
• Experience / knowledge of various HPE or other server hardware and architecture.
• Automation experience using scripting language such as Shell, Perl and/or Python scripting.
• MS Windows OS knowledge will be added advantage.
• Experience / knowledge of Veritas cluster and Veritas Storage Foundation products
• Previous working experience with external cloud technologies (AWS, Azure etc.).
• Strong analysis, problem solving and communication skills.
• Experience supporting at least 500+ servers, operating in a highly-available configuration
• Disciplined, with good time and project management skills.
• Courageous and a strong affinity for continuous improvement.
• Collaborative and curious, someone who enjoys working with others.
