Vice President Basel Interpretive Office Senior Manager

Our client operates in the Financial sector, with its headquarters rooted strongly in the United States. It has its branches spread to more than 160 countries, providing employment to more than 200k people all over the world. They fall in the Top 15 largest Banks in the United States. Its core business is to provide various Banking and Financial services to its clients. It is known to have one of the biggest balance sheet banks in the world (among others) aiding it to offer 360-degree financial services to its clients.

Responsibilities

• The Capital Interpretation role covers U.S. Basel interpretations required for regional transaction flows, general regulatory capital inquiries and implementation and enhancement activities. 
• In addition, this role advises the business on the regulatory capital treatment during the structuring phase of transactions and provides the U.S. Basel regulatory capital conclusions for transactions reviewed under the global New Product Approval process. 
• This role requires collaboration with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure proper due diligence of transactions from a U.S. Basel regulatory capital interpretive perspective. 
• Key stakeholders include Risk Management, Accounting Policy, Legal, Product Control, Regulatory Reporting, and the business.
• The candidate must have excellent technical writing skills, proven ability to navigate across a complex organization, and ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are required given the high level of interaction across functions and senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
• 5+ years of Basel-related experience and/or transaction background
• Knowledge of the U.S. Basel III rules for one or more exposure types (e.g., wholesale, securities financing transactions, market risk)
• Understanding of banking products and interest in developing deeper expertise in complex product structures transacted by large banking organizations
• Ability to understand the connectivity between the U.S. Basel III rules, economic risk considerations, and U.S. GAAP/U.S. Regulatory Reporting treatment for transactions
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities; work collaboratively within the team and across the organization, and exhibit interpersonal/influencing skill
• Strong attention to detail, willingness to "roll up sleeves" and produce high quality work products
• Strong Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills and the ability to quickly adapt where required
