Sales Account Executive - Uganda

Role Description: <ul><li>The Country Head is the most senior commercial executive and face of our petroleum business in Country.</li><li>This role serves as the primary growth driver and central leadership authority for business operations within the market.</li><li>This role is laser-focused on aggressively expanding market share, revenue, and profitability while providing inspirational leadership and strategic direction to all country-based teams.</li><li>The Country Head has direct line management responsibility for the sales organization and exercises influential leadership over all other functions to ensure cohesive execution of growth strategies and achievement of growth ambitions as articulated in Destination 2030 Strategy.</li></ul> Responsibilities: Growth Leadership and Market Expansion <ul><li>Develop and execute robust growth strategies to grow the Company’s market share and drive revenue growth.</li><li>Lead market penetration initiatives, identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, customer segments, and geographic expansion possibilities.</li><li>Set the Country’s growth targets for the team, drive relentless execution and high team performance in country.</li><li>Conduct competitive intelligence and market analysis to identify growth opportunities and competitive advantages.</li><li>Champion innovative go-to-market strategies, pricing optimization, and value proposition development.</li><li>Drive customer acquisition and retention strategies, focusing on high-value accounts and strategic partnerships.</li><li>Lead major deal negotiations and strategic customer relationships that positively impact business growth.</li><li>Represent the company at industry events, government forums, and key customer and regulator engagements to enhance market position.</li><li>Develop comprehensive country business plans that align with Energy BU strategies.</li><li>Identify and evaluate strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and acquisition opportunities.</li><li>Drive business development initiatives including new market entry strategies.</li><li>Conduct regular business reviews and adjust strategies based on market dynamics and performance.</li><li>Manage key stakeholder relationships including government officials, regulatory bodies, and industry associations.</li></ul> Sales Organization Leadership <ul><li>Directly manage and inspire the sales team to achieve exceptional performance and exceed sales targets.</li><li>Recruit, develop, and retain top-tier sales talent while building a high-performance sales culture.</li><li>Establish sales strategies, territory management, and account planning frameworks.</li><li>Implement sales processes, performance metrics, and incentive structures that drive results.</li><li>Provide hands-on coaching and mentoring to sales team members to maximize their potential.</li><li>Lead sales forecasting, pipeline management, and performance review processes.</li><li>Drive sales team accountability through regular performance monitoring and corrective action when needed.</li></ul> Performance Management and Results Delivery <ul><li>Take full accountability for country P&amp;L performance at gross margin level.</li><li>Partner with functional leaders to jointly set KPIS for all functions in country.</li><li>Ensure closure of receivables in a timely manner.</li><li>Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.</li><li>Implement risk management strategies and contingency planning for business continuity.</li><li>Report regularly to Petroleum leadership team on performance, challenges, and growth opportunities.</li></ul> Stakeholder Management &amp; External Relations <ul><li>Build and maintain strategic relationships with key government officials, regulatory authorities, and industry leaders.</li><li>Represent the companys interests in industry associations, chambers of commerce, and policy forums.</li><li>Ensure positive brand reputation and stakeholder confidence in the market.</li></ul> Requirements: <ul><li>Bachelors degree in Engineering, or business related field.</li><li>Masters degree (MBA) is a plus.</li><li>Industry-specific certifications or executive education programs advantageous.</li><li>Minimum 10-12 years of progressive leadership experience in petroleum, oil &amp; gas, or related energy industries.</li><li>At least 3 years’ experience in a leadership role.</li><li>Proven track record of driving significant business growth and market share expansion.</li><li>Experience managing sales organizations and achieving ambitious revenue targets.</li><li>Experience working in emerging markets or similar economic environments.</li></ul>

Responsibilities: Sales Execution: <ul><li>Execute sales plans and achieve individual volume and margin targets as assigned</li><li>Identify, prospect, and acquire new customers within assigned territory or product portfolio</li><li>Maintain and grow sales volumes from existing customer accounts through regular engagement and relationship building</li><li>Conduct customer visits, product presentations, and negotiations to close sales deals</li><li>Prepare quotations, sales proposals, and contracts in accordance with company pricing and approval guidelines</li><li>Monitor customer orders and coordinate with supply and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery</li><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records and sales data in the companys sales management system</li></ul> Customer Relationship Management: <ul><li>Build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and loyalty</li><li>Respond promptly to customer inquiries, concerns, and requests for information</li><li>Conduct regular follow-ups with customers to identify additional needs and opportunities</li><li>Gather customer feedback and market intelligence to share with the Sales Manager</li><li>Support debt collection activities by maintaining communication with customers on payment terms and following up on overdue accounts</li></ul> Market Intelligence and Reporting: <ul><li>Gather and report market intelligence including competitor activities, pricing trends, and customer needs Provide regular sales reports including achievements against targets, pipeline updates, and customer feedback</li><li>Participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote the company and identify business opportunities</li><li>Monitor stock levels and product availability in assigned territory</li></ul> Compliance and Administrative Duties: <ul><li>Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and standard operating practices related to sales operations</li><li>Follow credit management and sales approval processes as outlined in company procedures</li><li>Ensure all sales documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted in a timely manner</li><li>Maintain compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all sales activities</li><li>Complete required sales training and professional development programs</li></ul> Requirements: Education and Qualification&nbsp; <ul><li>Bachelors Degree in Commerce, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field</li><li>At least 2 years of sales experience, preferably in the Oil Industry or related B2B sector</li><li>Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office applications and CRM systems</li><li>Valid drivers license and willingness to travel within assigned territory</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>Basic understanding of credit management and commercial terms</li><li>Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team</li></ul>
