Systems Engineer II

Responsibilities:&nbsp;&nbsp; <ul><li>Develop Solar PV design/construction packages including solar array layouts, electricalSLD, DC collection systems, collection system studies (Cable Ampacity, Power Losses), and equipment installation details for Utility Scale Solar PV systems (5-500MW+)</li><li>Perform analysis and evaluations to determine the most cost-effective DC CollectionSystem designs for Utility Scale Solar PV Systems (5-500MW+)</li><li>Support development of early-stage projects with conceptual designs and material take-offs (pre-LNTP)</li><li>Manage external subcontractors for other adjacent services Interact directly with clients for successful project execution</li><li>Use Excel spreadsheets, commercial and proprietary engineering software to designSolar PV systems</li><li>Potential site visits to gather notes and take pictures of existing conditions to aid indesign and identify critical flaws</li><li>Contribute to continual development of internal solar engineering standards, toolsets,and work processes</li><li>Turning initial system conceptual ideas into fully developed optimized EPC designs</li><li>Oversee and execute process improvements and the development of policies,procedures, methods, and tools in support of delivery</li><li>Responsibilities include supporting pre-sales processes and working with sales andaccount management professionals to win new business; implementing business; proposal review and refinement; recruiting and staff development</li><li>Research and development in solar technology for new product development and stay current on new technological developments in the field Generates new ideas, goes beyond the status quo; recognizes the need for new or modified approaches</li></ul> Requirements: <ul><li>Electrical Engineering Degree</li><li>Education or experience with power systems analysis and design</li><li>Previous experience in the electrical engineering of Renewable Energies (Solar) Systems</li><li>Proficiency use of Excel and AutoCAD</li><li>Working knowledge of electrical codes/standards (NEC, NBR, AEA, NTC, IEC, IEEE)</li><li>Ability to read, comprehend and apply electrical codes and/or standards (NEC 690-691,NEC 310, IEC 62548, IEC 62738)</li><li>Experience with cable sizing (ampacity, voltage drop) and power loss calculations</li><li>Strong written and oral communication skills, including study report writing</li><li>Strong presentation and negotiation skills</li><li>Strong operational, project management, consulting technology and process skills</li><li>Functional expertise with PVSyst, SAM or PVFarm for PV analysis – Desired</li></ul>
