Job description

Role Description:


  • We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to drive profitable sales growth across Brazil for a global specialist manufacturer of technical solutions serving the tobacco and related industries.
  • The role combines new business development, key account management, market development and strategic sales planning.
  • The successful candidate will be expected t identify white-space opportunities, establish relationships with new customers, develop existing accounts and build a sustainable commercial pipeline.
  • This is a highly autonomous commercial role requiring someone who can operate confidently in a technical B2B environment, build credibility with customers and translate market intelligence into revenue opportunities.


Responsibilities:


Sales & Business Development


  • Develop profitable sales growth across Brazil.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Prospect and target priority customers and markets.
  • Establish relationships with prospects and convert opportunities into orders.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial enquiry through qualification, negotiation and order completion.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue, profitability and customer lifetime value.
  • Identify opportunities for new products and solutions.


Market Development


  • Develop and implement the regional sales plan.
  • Identify underpenetrated markets, customer segments and white-space opportunities.
  • Conduct market segmentation and customer prioritisation.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and pricing.
  • Develop customer and market intelligence to support commercial decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability, service and market penetration.
  • Work with internal teams to develop appropriate customer propositions.


Key Account Management


  • Develop and execute account strategies for key customers.
  • Engage with customers across relevant commercial and functional levels.
  • Coordinate with regional and global account teams.
  • Identify additional opportunities within existing customers.
  • Develop customer relationship and contact plans.
  • Monitor account performance against agreed plans and targets.
  • Coordinate internal resources to support customer requirements.


Sales Performance & Forecasting


  • Manage the sales pipeline and opportunity tracker.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and monthly reporting.
  • Track sales and profitability against budget and prior-year performance.
  • Monitor opportunity conversion and pipeline development.
  • Identify underperformance and implement corrective actions.
  • Work closely with customers and internal teams on demand forecasting.
  • Maintain accurate customer and opportunity information within CRM systems.


Cross-Functional Collaboration


  • Work closely with supply chain, customer service, technical and other internal teams.
  • Coordinate customer requirements through the relevant internal support functions.
  • Share market and customer knowledge with regional colleagues.
  • Support regional and global sales initiatives.


Requirements:


Essential Experience


  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 8–10 years of relevant B2B account management / technical sales experience.
  • Proven experience in a technical, solution-based or industrial B2B sales environment.
  • Demonstrated record of new business development and revenue growth.
  • Experience managing complex customer relationships and sales processes.
  • Strong understanding of sales, supply chain and customer-service processes.
  • Willingness to travel frequently internationally.

  • Comfortable developing new markets and customers.
  • Strong attention to detail and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Strategic and creative approach to business development.
  • Comfortable operating with limited market data and using customer/market intelligence to identify opportunities.
  • Strong customer orientation and commercial judgement.


Languages:


  • Fluent Portuguese and English required.
  • Spanish is an advantage.
