You will play a part in their enhancements, infuse innovation, and institute novel work methodologies. Presently, our client is seeking a Global Category Lead - Technology for our Global Procurement Category Management team in Madrid. 

This role will report to the Category Manager of Global Technology.

The Role:

As a key figure in this role, you will be responsible for specific sub-categories within the realm of Global Technology. You will serve as an authoritative figure in this domain.

Demonstrating a knack for identifying business prospects, you will provide strategic guidance to safeguard, fortify, and enhance our client value proposition.

This will involve securing globally advantageous agreements, at a reasonable cost, with top technology providers.

You will operate within a team that currently manages a multi-billion USD annual expenditure.

This role is slated for rapid expansion due to strategic investments. This situation offers an avenue to devise solutions, establish new partnerships, and influence the trajectory of the team's accomplishments. This is an outstanding chance for someone already deeply involved in leading significant negotiations within the Technology sphere to transition to the next level. Here, you will directly oversee the strategy for assigned categories - from conception to implementation - working in synergy with senior business counterparts.

Your Daily Engagements:

• Act as a trendsetter, steering the discourse in Technology procurement.
• This entails formulating and deploying comprehensive Global Strategic Procurement blueprints.
• Achieve this through collaboration with key stakeholders, scrutinizing category data and metrics.
• These efforts will align with the overarching functional strategies.
• Develop and implement global and regional strategies. Forge, cultivate, and spearhead relationships with internal cross-functional partners, leading external technology suppliers, and industry authorities.
• Uphold existing processes while suggesting enhancements to standard protocols.
• The focus here will be on cost efficiency, quality, and service levels.
• Manage high-value contracts and vendors on a global scale. Ensure service dependability, supplier performance, and a continuous cycle of enhancement initiatives.

Who we are looking for:

• A track record of 7+ years in global procurement within the Technology sector, or experience in IT/Technology-oriented multinational entities within account management/sales.
• Proficiency in comprehending tech industry trends and service market dynamics.
• This includes the ability to translate these insights into compelling strategies.
• Proven experience in cultivating meaningful internal and external partnerships that yield long-term value.
• A deep comprehension of pricing models across diverse global geographies/markets.
• Skill in formulating intricate business cases, financial models, projections, and metrics.
• A disposition towards critical thinking, augmented by robust analytical abilities and exceptional negotiation skills.
• Your approach blends imaginative thinking with factual analysis, enabling the development, formulation, and execution of strategies in tandem with senior business counterparts.
• Native or fluent English language proficiency (minimum C1 level).
