Attention all Bristolians! Do you want to be part of something new and exciting? Our client is forming a Heat Network Advisory Panel and is searching for three exceptional individuals to join them!
What is District Heating?
Imagine you're standing in front of a row of houses in your neighbourhood. You can see that each house has a heating system with a chimney, and you can smell the smoke coming out of each one. But what if there was a better way to heat all these houses without each one needing its own system?
That's where district heating comes in! Instead of each house having its own heating system, a central plant generates the heat and then sends it through insulated pipes to each house. This way, the energy is saved and it's more efficient than having individual heating systems for each house.
The Role
This is your chance to help shape the future of heat networks in Bristol! As a member of the panel for this project, you'll get to work closely with our client's board of directors and provide insight and advice related to the development of the project. You'll be a "critical friend" who can support and challenge the ongoing development of the project to ensure alignment with the project’s strategic goals.
Don't worry if you don't have knowledge or experience with heat networks or the energy industry because this role is designed to offer supplementary support from outside the industry. All you need is a willingness to learn and an interest in renewable energy and community involvement.
As a member of the Heat Network Advisory Panel, you'll have some awesome responsibilities! You'll provide independent views on proposals, challenge the direction of the project, propose projects that can be owned by the community, and input into policy positions related to the heat network. You'll also get to promote the heat network on a local, regional, and national level!
And the best part? This is not a full-time role! You can get involved in the Bristol community for 4-6 days a year on a supplementary project! Plus, the role offers a salary and reimbursement for any reasonable expenses like travel, childcare, and more.
So, if you're passionate about making a positive impact in your community and want to be part of something amazing, don't hesitate to reach out to grace.turner@whitecrowresearch.com. Let's make Bristol a more sustainable and vibrant city together!
