Job description

Responsibilities:


  • Lead the development and implementation of instrumentation design strategies for capital projects, including the specification, selection, and procurement of all related equipment.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure the integration of instrumentation and control systems with other plant components.
  • Manage and mentor a team of instrumentation engineers and designers, setting clear goals and ensuring professional development.
  • Sound understanding I&C Deliverables and managing the delivery for scope of work such as P&ID Development, Control System Architecture & Drawing, Instrument sizing calculations, Instrument Data sheets and Specifications for all inline and Online Instruments, Instrument Installation & Bulk Material Specification/TBE, Vendor drawing reviews, Instrument Index, I/O List, Hook-up Drawings and Installation drawings, Interface drawing/scheme of DCS & PCC/MCC, Interlock logic, terminal details, 3D Modelling (Instruments, Cable Trays, Manifolds etc.), All Layouts - Instrument Location, Junction Box, Cable Trays etc., Instrument Power consumption, Cable Schedule, JB Schedule, Panel Schedule Etc., Cable Block Diagram, JB Wiring Diagram, Instrument Wiring Diagrams, Loop Drawings, Develop Control Narratives, Cause & Effects, & Alarm Points, SIL Study & Report, Telecom & CCTV system and associated wiring, Control Panel Specifications, Layout and Drawings etc.
  • Knowledge on AVEVA P&ID, AVEVA Instrumentation, and AVEVA Engineering modules, including the creation of datasheet formats and preparation of I/O lists, instrument lists, electrical load lists, and instrument data browsing.
  •  Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  •  Conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, and validation of instrumentation designs.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective instrumentation solutions.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for instrumentation in project meetings and liaise with counterparts to understand their requirements and provide technical support.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery of instrumentation scopes.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in instrumentation design.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in instrumentation design for chemical process plants, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • Extensive experience with AVEVA Instrumentation and AVEVA Engineering software.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards (ISA, IEC, ANSI, API).
  • Proficient with instrumentation design tools and software (e.g., INTOOLS, AutoCAD, MicroStation).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
