Job description

Role Decription:


  • We are looking for a Senior Market Surveillance Analyst to join our client's team. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising a portfolio of international Equity, Index or Commodity Derivative products and ensuring fair and orderly trading is safeguarded. You will use your expertise to guide and coach the team in day-to-day business operations and take necessary actions to prevent irregularities in the market and resolve issues quickly and accurately.

 

Responsibilities:


  • Supervise a portfolio of Derivative products and trading behaviors to ensure fair and orderly trading is safeguarded.
  • Ensure the maintenance of derivative safety nets that are used for trading to avoid occurrences such as significant price deviations or flash crashes.
  • Take decisions based on rules and regulations to halt and reopen derivative contracts and decide if trades are aberrant or if orders need to be canceled.
  • Monitor the Derivative alerts, spot, report and escalate irregularities based on the trading procedures, rulebooks, regulation, and the Market Abuse framework.
  • Calculate high-quality daily settlement prices and expiry prices used as closing prices for the Exchange and used by the clearing house for settlements.
  • Support the Operational and Project lead in the business as usual and Project work.
  • Run the Serious Incident Management process in crises situations and provide expertise.
  • Provide expertise and write Requirements in the diverse projects the team is involved with.
  • Maintain the test environment and perform sanity checks for new trading platform releases to secure a safe production environment.


Requirements:


  • At least 5 years of experience in similar roles; experience with derivatives.
  • Strong management and leadership skills.
  • Full proficiency in English.
  • Strong IT acumen.
  • Hands-on approach, organized, with attention to detail and able to bring structure.
  • Team player and intercultural competence and excellent communication skills with ability to work in a virtual team across locations in different countries to achieve common goals and deliver projects.
  • Able to take decisions whilst under pressure and to handle stressful situations.
