Senior Back-End Developer

Responsibilities :

• Participate in system architecture design, and planning for web application projects.
• Guide the back-end developers towards better software development practices through code reviewing.
• Define and implement API micro-services to support front-end development, and AI engine integration.
• Design and implement database schema to support requirements of web application.
• Analyse, propose, and deploy relevant technologies that can achieve the requirements.
• Collaborate with front-end developers and other team members to improve usability.
• Create quality mock-ups and prototypes.
• Stay up to date on emerging technologies and techniques.

Requirements :

• A Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline;
• At least 3 years of experience in full software development life cycle with evidence of playing leadership roles in a back-end developer capacity;
• Hands-on experience with database schema design, object-relational mapping, and basic security practices for API design;
• Hands-on programming experience with Python and Flask, and integration with database systems like MySQL or PostgreSQL;
• Hands-on experience with GNU/Linux command line, and Docker containerisation;
• Hands-on experience with using source control tools like git;
• Strong critical thinking and multi-tasking skills, with a strong sense of initiative;
• Excellent interpersonal communication, writing, and presentation skills in English; and
• Experience in working in a team with people of diverse skill sets.
