Software Engineering Lead

Responsibilities: <ul><li>Develop distributed system architecture and system integration&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Design event-driven applications leveraging microservices architecture on cloud platform&nbsp;</li><li>Carry out Model and assess complex IT solutions&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Work closely with platform engineers and other IT professionals to choose compatible design solutions&nbsp;</li><li>Manage and comply with release management process&nbsp;</li><li>Analyze the scope and expected organizational impact of information systems&nbsp;</li><li>Evaluate existing systems and provide advice on how to meet organizational requirements&nbsp;</li><li>Ensure that the technical components of the project are in sync with the business needs of the organization&nbsp;</li><li>Ensure that information systems are secure from threat&nbsp;</li><li>Provide advice on project design, project costs, and expected benefit&nbsp;</li><li>Identifies technical debt and proactively recommends alternatives or improvements&nbsp;</li></ul> Requirements: <ul><li>University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related subjects preferred&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>8+ years of work experience building applications&nbsp;</li><li>Advanced understanding of IT infrastructure and enterprise architectures&nbsp;</li><li>Proven experience with microservices-based architecture&nbsp;</li><li>Proficiency in coding with modern programming languages such as C#, Python, or Node.js&nbsp;</li><li>API-first development experience&nbsp;</li><li>Experience with Cloud Computing (Azure preferable)&nbsp;</li><li>Extensive expertise in any modern document-oriented database, with a preference for MongoDB&nbsp;</li><li>Experience in developing components for Event-Driven Architecture, with a minimum of production-level experience using Event Hubs or Event Grid (or similar technologies like Kafka)&nbsp;</li><li>Experience working in an agile environment with a focus on engineering practices like testing, continuous integration, etc.&nbsp;</li><li>Good knowledge of virtualization&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Analytics mindset with critical thinking and problem-solving skills&nbsp;</li><li>Fine knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies&nbsp;</li><li>Fluent in English&nbsp;</li></ul>

Role Description: <ul><li>The Software Engineer Lead will be in a position to serve as a subject matter expert for a specific team of Software Engineers.</li><li>In addition to writing code on complex systems and applications, this position provides direction on project plans, schedules, and methodologies.</li><li>The position has direct reports. Work closely with other development team members to understand moderately complex product requirements and translate them into software designs.</li><li>Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.</li><li>Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.</li><li>Resolve complex technical issues as necessary. Mentor and/or train entry-level software engineers as directed by department management, ensuring they are knowledgeable in critical aspects of their roles.</li><li>Keep abreast of new technology developments. Design and work with complex data models. Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws.&nbsp;</li><li>Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.</li><li>Ensure all staff is provided with training and resources needed to perform their jobs to the most outstanding degree possible.</li><li>Ensure all staff is provided with frequent feedback and coaching in order to meet and exceed individual and team performance goals consistently.</li><li>Manage and encourage new ideas from staff to foster improvements through innovations.</li><li>Empower the staff to be accountable and responsible for their own actions and decisions.</li></ul> Requirements: <ul><li>Bilingual English and Spanish All Qualified Applicants must reside in Mexico City Able to work in person 2-4 days per week as needed Expertise in object-oriented development languages such as Java or .Net (C#) with an added benefit of having experience in front end technologies such as Angular or React.</li><li>Experience in software development methodologies (e.g., Kahn Bahn and Scrum).</li><li>Ability to partner and lead internal and external technology resources in solving complex business needs.</li><li>Ability to design and work with complex data models.
